Created by Duke Energy around 1920, it is one of the state's oldest man-made lakes and is known for crappie, largemouth bass, catfish, and bream fishing. The lake's name recalls the Wateree people who lived in the area before European settlement.

Located about 30 miles northeast of Columbia and just east of Interstate 77 near Liberty Hill, Lake Wateree is surrounded by three counties of rolling Carolina countryside. Lake Wateree State Park offers camping along the shore, and a protected bird refuge on the Lancaster County side makes the lake a popular spot for wildlife watching, boating, and swimming.

A laser-cut wooden map of Lake Wateree makes a distinctive piece of wall art for any South Carolina lake home, cabin, or fishing retreat. The natural wood top layer traces the coves and creek arms of this large reservoir in fine detail, while the light-to-dark blue gradient layers show its depth from shallow shoreline to the deepest channel. It also makes a thoughtful gift for lake homeowners, anglers, and anyone with a favorite spot on Lake Wateree.

Dimensions:

Small: 8"x12"

Medium: 12"x18"

Large: 16"x24"

Extra Large: 20"x30"

XX Large: 24"x36"

Gigantic 30"x45"

HD Extra Large: 20"x30" - 15 Layers

HD XX Large: 24"x36" - 15 Layers

HD Gigantic 30"x45" - 15 Layers

The difference between standard and HD maps is the number of layers. Standard maps have 1 land layer and 7 water layers. The HD lake maps have 1 land layer and 14 water layers. So twice the detail. The HD Maps are limited to Extra Large, XX Large, and Gigantic sizes only.
