Lake Allatoona, officially Allatoona Lake, is a 12,010-acre reservoir located on the Etowah River in northwestern Georgia, primarily within Bartow and Cherokee Counties, with a small portion extending into Cobb County. This U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lake boasts a 270-mile shoreline and a maximum depth of 145 feet. It is a popular recreational destination offering a wide range of activities, including boating, fishing, swimming, and camping. Anglers can find various species such as bass (largemouth, spotted, striped, and hybrid), crappie, catfish, and bream.

The area around Lake Allatoona features numerous public recreation areas, including boat ramps, campgrounds, and picnic sites. Red Top Mountain State Park, situated on a peninsula within the lake, offers hiking trails and stunning lake views. The lake's history includes the significant Civil War Battle of Allatoona Pass, and the Allatoona Pass Battlefield is now a historic site near the lake. The HD Maps are limited to Extra Large, XX Large, and Gigantic sizes only. On the smaller sizes the depth change of the wood is too extreme and you end up losing detail.
