It Is Built From Quality Materials

A piece made for a lake home should be built from quality materials and finished properly. I use locally sourced hardwood frames and a durable water-based polyurethane finish on every map I make so each one is built for long-term indoor display.

These maps are made for indoor display. Direct sun, outdoor humidity, and changing weather conditions can damage wood over time, so I do not recommend hanging them outside.

The Artwork Is Original

A lot of companies purchase map artwork or digital files created by someone else. I take a different approach. I research each lake and create all of my own map files and artwork before I build the finished product.

I taught myself the entire process, from designing the maps to building and finishing them. That gives me control over the accuracy, quality, and customization of every piece I make. Every lake in my catalog started as original artwork created in my shop.

It Fits the Space

Scale matters more than most people think when it comes to lake house wall decor. A Small map on a large wall disappears. Something too big crowds a room. How I Build My 3D Wooden Lake Maps

Every map starts as a stack of wood in my shop. I build each one layer by layer using the actual depth data for that specific lake. The water layers are painted a light to dark blue gradient so the map gets darker as the lake gets deeper. The lake name, surrounding roads, and geography are laser etched into the surface.

Every map comes with a French cleat hanging system permanently installed on the back. The matching wall cleat mounts level to the wall, and the beveled design locks the map securely in place and pulls it tight against the wall. Installation is straightforward and the result is a strong, professional hang.

Frame options are maple, cherry, walnut, or black stained ash. The Extra Large, XXL, and Gigantic sizes are also available as High Definition versions with twice as many water layers. The detail difference is noticeable, especially on lakes with complex depth structure.

Every map can be personalized with cabin icons, hearts, stars, custom text, or other details. The goal is to make something specific to the person ordering it, not just a map that could hang in anyone's lake home.
