Kalla Lake is a 103-acre lake nestled in the Avon Hills area of Stearns County, Minnesota, reaching a maximum depth of 48 feet across 2 miles of heavily forested shoreline near the city of Avon. With no public boat access and only seven homes built along its east shore, Kalla Lake is one of the most private and undisturbed lakes in central Minnesota, with 42% forest and 30% pasture and grassland surrounding its watershed. Water clarity improved dramatically from 5 feet in 1987 to 11 feet by 2010, reflecting the lake's improving health, and its waters hold Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Black Crappie, Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, Bowfin, and a diverse array of panfish and rough fish species.
Located within the Avon Hills, a rolling, wooded moraine landscape just east of the city of Avon in central Stearns County, Kalla Lake sits in a region often overlooked in favor of the larger resort lakes nearby. The difference between standard and HD maps is the number of layers. Standard maps have 1 land layer and 7 water layers. The HD lake maps have 1 land layer and 14 water layers. So twice the detail. The HD Maps are limited to Extra Large, XX Large, and Gigantic sizes only. On the smaller sizes the depth change of the wood is too extreme and you end up losing detail.

These are true 3D layered maps.

Do you use real depth data?
Yes, as an angler and map nerd, accuracy matters to me. I use multiple data sources, up to six, to find the most accurate lake contours available.
I would not hang an inaccurate map in my house and I will not send one to yours.
