Lake Lotawana is a 480-acre private man-made lake in the City of Lake Lotawana, Jackson County, Missouri — the largest private lake in the Kansas City metropolitan area — featuring 27 miles of cove-lined shoreline and named after a Native American princess whose name means "sparkling water." Built by Milton Thompson beginning in 1927 on land once used as a hideout by Quantrill's Raiders during the Civil War, the lake holds Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, and Channel Catfish, and supports one of the most active private water sports cultures in the region — including sailing regattas, speed boating, ice boating, water skiing, kayaking, and fishing tournaments. The Marina Grog and Galley serves as the beloved on-water dining anchor of this tightly-knit lake community.

The difference between standard and HD maps is the number of layers. Standard maps have 1 land layer and 7 water layers. The HD lake maps have 1 land layer and 14 water layers. So twice the detail. The HD Maps are limited to Extra Large, XX Large, and Gigantic sizes only. On the smaller sizes the depth change of the wood is too extreme and you end up losing detail.

These are true 3D layered maps.

Do you use real depth data?
Yes, as an angler and map nerd, accuracy matters to me. I use multiple data sources, up to six, to find the most accurate lake contours available.
I would not hang an inaccurate map in my house and I will not send one to yours.
