Lake Skinner is a 1,400-acre reservoir at the foot of Bachelor Mountain in the Auld Valley of western Riverside County, California, created in 1973 when the Skinner Clearwell Dam was constructed across Tucalota Creek and expanded in 1991. Fed by both the Colorado River Aqueduct and the California State Water Project, it serves as a primary drinking water source for the Temecula Valley and surrounding communities. The lake holds Largemouth and Striped Bass, Rainbow Trout stocked seasonally by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Channel Catfish, Bluegill, and Redear Sunfish, and is managed by Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District with strict no-swim and low-wake policies that keep its waters calm and productive for fishing year-round.
Located about 10 miles northeast of Temecula near Winchester, Lake Skinner sits in the heart of Temecula Valley Wine Country, surrounded by rolling oak-covered hills and the Santa Rosa Plateau. The Southwestern Riverside County Multi-Species Reserve adjoins the lake, protecting habitat for the Least Bell's vireo and Southwestern willow flycatcher. The difference between standard and HD maps is the number of layers. Standard maps have 1 land layer and 7 water layers. The HD lake maps have 1 land layer and 14 water layers. So twice the detail. The HD Maps are limited to Extra Large, XX Large, and Gigantic sizes only. On the smaller sizes the depth change of the wood is too extreme and you end up losing detail.

These are true 3D layered maps.

Do you use real depth data?
Yes, as an angler and map nerd, accuracy matters to me. I use multiple data sources, up to six, to find the most accurate lake contours available.
I would not hang an inaccurate map in my house and I will not send one to yours.
