Marsh-Miller Lake, also known as Mill Pond, is a 441-acre millpond flowage in Chippewa County featuring a maximum depth of 14 feet with an average depth of 7 feet and approximately eight miles of scenic shoreline surrounded by the pristine Marsh Miller Cedars State Natural Area on the western shore. Created by damming water to power early mills, this historic flowage sits on gentle glacial topography with extensive wetland communities dominated by northern wet-mesic forest with 140-year-old white cedar, black spruce, tamarack, and balsam fir creating a unique northwoods atmosphere. The old river channel running from north to south through the lake creates distinct fishing structure along with abundant weeds, timber, and stumps requiring careful navigation but providing exceptional fish habitat. Widely celebrated as "one of the best big gills lake in the state where 10 inch gills are possible and lots of 8-9 inchers" and "A Consistent Producer Of Large Crappies And Sunfish. One Of The Best Known Lakes In W Wisconsin," this legendary panfish destination supports exceptional populations of massive Bluegill with specimens reaching 10 inches making it a bucket-list lake for serious panfish anglers, plus abundant Black Crappie, Yellow Perch, Pumpkinseed, and other panfish species. The lake also offers excellent Largemouth Bass fishing with anglers catching 20-25 fish per outing in the 13-to-16-inch range and trophy fish exceeding three pounds, plus healthy Northern Pike populations creating nonstop action year-round. With two resorts featuring bars and restaurants on the lake including Fireside Lake Resort and Hawks Resort providing perfect hunger and thirst relief, the lake is ideal for pontoon boat exploration of countless coves, fishing tournaments, family panfishing adventures, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and exceptional ice fishing when the lake produces trophy-sized crappies and sunfish through the ice

Frequently Asked Questions
Are these actually 3D or just engraved?
These are true 3D layered maps.
- Made from 1/8 inch Baltic birch
- Standard maps have 8 layers. 1 land layer and 7 water layers
- HD maps have 15 layers. 1 land layer and 14 water layers
Each water layer uses a light to dark blue gradient so depth changes are easy to see.
Where are these made?
Everything is made in my shop in Minnesota.
- Design
- Cutting
- Painting
- Assembly
- Frame building
The frames start as locally sourced rough sawn hardwood and are built from scratch.
Do you use real depth data?
Yes, as an angler and map nerd, accuracy matters to me. I use multiple data sources, up to six, to find the most accurate lake contours available.
I would not hang an inaccurate map in my house and I will not send one to yours.
Why buy from Horn Dog Maps instead of Etsy or marketplace sellers?
Most marketplace sellers:
- Buy pre-made cut files, often from overseas
- Have no connection to the lakes
- Cannot verify accuracy
- Have long delays if a file is not available
This leads to lower accuracy and longer lead times, often 6 to 8 weeks.
Because I design everything myself:
- I can create a new lake mockup in about 30 minutes
- You get a more accurate map, faster
What is your lead time?
Most orders ship in 1.5 to 2 weeks depending on the time of year.
