Lake Shelbyville, a significant reservoir in central Illinois, spans across Shelby and Moultrie Counties. Covering 11,100 acres, it has a maximum depth of 65 feet and an average depth of around 18 feet. Created by damming the Kaskaskia River, Lake Shelbyville is a popular destination for a wide array of outdoor activities. Anglers are attracted to the lake for its diverse fish populations, including largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white bass, walleye, muskie, crappie, and catfish.
