Sparrow Lake in Muskoka District and Simcoe County, Ontario
This lake has 8 Layers or 15 Layers for HD Version
Sparrow Lake is a 2,992-acre lake straddling Muskoka District and Simcoe County in Central Ontario, reaching a maximum depth of 39 feet and serving as the most southerly lake in the celebrated Muskoka cottage country region, about 150 kilometres north of Toronto. Fed by the Severn and Kahshe Rivers and lying at 214 metres above sea level, the lake is an integral part of the Trent-Severn Waterway linking Lake Couchiching to Georgian Bay. Its granite islands, rocky Canadian Shield shoreline, clear waters, and diverse fishery of Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye, Muskellunge, and Yellow Perch make it one of the most sought-after cottage lakes in southern Ontario. The lake was named for William Sparrow, a 19th-century English sportsman who hunted and fished the area before mysteriously disappearing one summer.
Situated on the west side of Highway 11 south of Gravenhurst near the community of Washago, Sparrow Lake anchors a vibrant cottage and resort community with two marinas, two golf courses, and easy year-round access to the broader Muskoka region. Archaeological evidence of 5,000-year-old Indigenous fishing weirs discovered nearby speaks to millennia of human connection to these waters, while today the lake draws boaters, paddlers, and anglers from the Greater Toronto Area seeking the granite-and-pine character of the Canadian Shield just an hour and a half from the city.
A laser-cut wooden map of Sparrow Lake makes a breathtaking and deeply personal piece of wall art for any Muskoka cottage, Gravenhurst-area lake home, or Ontario Shield enthusiast's retreat. The natural wood top layer traces every granite island, rocky cove, and inlet of this iconic southern Muskoka lake in stunning detail, while the light-to-dark blue gradient layers capture its clear, Shield-water character and 39-foot depth. A handcrafted gift perfectly suited for Sparrow Lake cottage owners, Muskoka regulars, and anyone who treasures this beloved gateway to Ontario's cottage country.

The HD Maps are limited to Extra Large, XX Large, and Gigantic sizes only. On the smaller sizes the depth change of the wood is too extreme and you end up losing detail.
