Strawberry Reservoir is a 17,164-acre reservoir on the Strawberry River in Wasatch County, located 23 miles southeast of Heber City along U.S. Highway 40 at an elevation between 7,200 and 7,800 feet above sea level. Originally constructed in 1913 as one of the earliest federal reclamation projects and dramatically expanded in 1972 when Soldier Creek Dam combined the original Strawberry Reservoir with nearby Soldier Creek Reservoir, this massive impoundment serves as the terminal reservoir for the Strawberry Aqueduct and Collection System, storing water diverted from ten tributaries of the Colorado River drainage for delivery through the Strawberry Tunnel across the Wasatch Mountains to supply irrigation and municipal water to Utah Valley's Bonneville Basin. The reservoir features 138 miles of scenic shoreline winding through rolling sagebrush-covered hills and aspen-dotted valleys, reaching depths of 240 feet with an average depth varying by basin, while the 272-foot-tall earthen Soldier Creek Dam creates four distinct fishing areas including the expansive Strawberry Basin comprising 64 percent of the reservoir's volume, the shallow Meadows section at the southern end, the deep Soldier Creek Basin containing the old Soldier Creek Reservoir, and the Narrows connecting the major basins through dramatic serpentine channels. The difference between standard and HD maps is the number of layers. Standard maps have 1 land layer and 7 water layers. " The HD lake maps have 1 land layer and 14 water layers. So twice the detail. The HD Maps are limited to Extra Large, " XX Large, and Gigantic sizes only. On the smaller sizes the depth change of the wood is too extreme and you end up losing detail.

Yes, as an angler and map nerd, accuracy matters to me. I use multiple data sources, up to six, to find the most accurate lake contours available.

I would not hang an inaccurate map in my house and I will not send one to yours.
